NTBA Umpire Bulletins

Batter’s Box

If one foot is touching the plate, the batter is considered to be batting from outside the batter’s box.  In this case, if the bat makes contact with the ball while the batter has one foot on the plate, time should be called and the batter should be declared out for batting outside of the batter’s box.  No other runners may advance on this play.
