Rebels Major Peewee Team A/AA (Players Born In 2000)

The North Toronto Rebels invite all players born in 1999 who are interested in competitive baseball to try out for the 2012 Tier 2 Major Peewee Team.

Team Selection:

Players will be selected on the basis of:

•  attitude and coachability
•  level of commitment to attend practices, games and tournaments to ensure consistency of play and development as a team
•  athleticism and skill

No previous rep level baseball experience is required. All players, whether on the 2011 team or not, will receive equal consideration.

Team Commitment:

Indoor training will commence in the early winter. You can expect at least one to two practices and two games per week starting in May, plus 3-4 tournaments. We are expecting to attend one tournament in the US and the CNE tournament. A minimum 75% attendance is expected for the practices and games.

The team will take a 2 week break at the beginning of July. Players' attendance at overnight camp and vacations should be scheduled for early July. Players are expected to attend all practices and games scheduled in August, including on weekends.

All players must be available to attend the TBA playoffs (August 10-12, 2012) and OBA playoffs (August 31-September 3, 2012).

Please note there is a significant financial commitment as well. Depending on sponsorship, player costs are expected to be $1000-$1400, in addition to league fees, primarily to pay for winter training, uniforms and equipment.

Please do not attend the tryouts if you will be unable to meet the minimum attendance commitment.

Attendance at both of the initial tryouts is not required; however, attendance at both will give the coaches a better opportunity to fully evaluate each player.

Please wear a numbered shirt . Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for the first try-out.
