Tryouts for North Toronto Minor Mosquito A-AA All-Star
Team |
|
Attention
NTBA baseball players born in 2000.
Tryouts
for the 2010 minor mosquito all-star team will be held at Memorial
Park, Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11:00 am- 1:00 pm and Sunday October 4
at 11:30 am-1:30pm.
We
encourage anyone born in 2000 who has aspirations of playing all-star
baseball to come and tryout.
Playing all-star baseball is great for a child's skill development,
not to mention improved self-discipline, sense of responsibility,
strenghtening of one's character, and lasting friendships with teammates
and their families, to name a few.
Earning
a roster spot on an all-star team is a great accomplishment at any
age. All-Star baseball provides your child with an opportunity to
play at a much more competitive level than the houseleague has to
offer. We practice 1-2 times and play 1-2 games against other teams
in the greater Toronto area every week throughout the summer. In
addition , we participate in at least 2 weekend tournaments during
the spring and summer. Our playoffs (City Championships) are on
a weekend in the middle of August. The Provincial Champianships,
hopefully, take place on Labour Day Weekend. The team will be part
of the Toronto Baseball Association/York Simcoe Baseball Association.
We
plan to start practicing with professional instruction once a week
during the winter at an indoor baseball facility. The cost for this
will be approximately $500 per player.
The
goals of our coaching staff will be to help your child deveop the
skills necessary to be successful at this level in a fun, positve
environment of teamwork and good sportsmanship. We will stress the
importance of effort and a willingness to learn over results.
Being
a member of an all-star team is a privilege as there are only a
limited number of spots and many players who wish to fill them.
In order to be copetitive we will need our players to attend all
practices and games therefore we will give priority to players who
will be in the city most of the summer. We understand that vacation
and camp are an important part of summer and recommend that they
are done in July.
Note:
Rostered NTBA Minor Mosquito All-Star Players are Exempt from NTBA
Mosquito Houseleague play.
Please
be at the tryouts 15 minutes early to warm -up and meet the coaches.
All players should bring their baseball glove and wear baseball
pants , a protective cup and a shirt with a number on the back(does
not have to be baseball related). You may find directions to Memorial
Park by clicking
here.
Please
send an e-mail to dsaco@rogers.com
to let us know if you are intending to attend the tryouts.
Hope
to see you at the tryouts, do not hesitate to contact us if you
