North Toronto Expos Major Mosquito Team A/AA
(Players Born In 2000)

The North Toronto Expos formed last year will be conducting tryouts for the 2012 Minor Pee Wee season. The team invites all players born in 2000 who are interested in competitive baseball to tryout. These sessions are run as a skills clinic which will allow the coaches an opportunity to observe each player's skills.

As we did last year our team will focus on a fun experience for the players while developing and improving their baseball skills. As a first year team last year we enjoyed a good amount of success, and ended the season as TBA A level finalists. We would like to improve on that performance this year, and perhaps move up to AA. We are looking for players who are willing to take the time and effort to achieve this goal. These players will be expected to focus on baseball while playing and practicing, and we hope to make this an enjoyable experience at the same time. We will conduct 2 tryout sessions to evaluate skills, and a limited number of players will be invited to a 3rd session. At that time we will split the remaining candidates into 2 teams, and play a game to help us make final evaluations. After that we will pick our final 12 or 13 players.

Tryout Dates :

Thursday Sept. 22 6 PM at Sentinel Park

Saturday Sept. 24 10 AM at Sentinel Park

by invitation only after 2nd tryout

Sunday Sept. 25 11 AM at Sentinel Park.

Attendance at both of the initial tryouts is not required; however, attendance at both will give the coaches a better opportunity to fully evaluate each player.

Please wear a numbered shirt.

Team Commitment:

Our focus in assembling a team will include evaluating a player's level of commitment to attend practices, games and tournaments to ensure consistency of play and development as a team. We anticipate starting indoor training in the early winter. You can expect at least one practice and two games per week starting in May, plus 3-4 tournaments. We expect a heavy schedule for May, June, and August with most of July being left for camp and vacations. We expect players to participate in most of the practices and games. These could be held on weekdays and/or weekends. Please do not attend the tryouts if you will be unable to meet the minimum attendance commitment.

Please confirm your attendance by emailing ron@jedron.com

Please complete the attached sign-up sheet by clicking here and bring to the tryouts. Please email the completed form, or print and bring a copy with you to the first tryout.
